A new way of living since 1975

Democratically run – Self supported – Zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.

Oxford House Utah may enjoy all the privileges of Oxford House as long as it adheres to the following three conditions:

  • The House must be self-run on a democratic basis;
  • The House must be financially self- supporting; and
  • Any resident who drinks alcohol or uses drugs must be immediately expelled.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) are 12 step programs that have helped millions of recovering addicts to change their behavior to adopt lifelong abstinence. Unfortunately, many recovering individuals need more support than AA and NA alone provide. Oxford houses provide the additional support and the time to learn new behavior. We have seen those that commit to the Oxford House rules and guidelines, for 18 months, increase their recovery success rates up to 80%.

The Oxford house concept, which emphasizes that together we can democratically run a clean and sober house, is key to gaining the time and strength we all need to stay clean and sober forever. We can also stay in an Oxford house for as long as necessary to get comfortable in sobriety without relapse.
